The continued sales success of the PSP-3000 in Japan is something of a surprise. Not only to us but also it would seem to Sony who have been struggling to manufacture enough of the handhelds to meet demand if retailer blogs and anecdotal evidence are to be believed.

With the 3DS out in stores it’s time for innovation so Ubisoft have stepped up to the challenge with their long running popular Ghost Recon series. The 3DS isn’t selling well and it’s your fault – at least that’s what Nintendo’s CEO is suggesting. According to Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, most people don’t know what the heck to do with the thing. Jeez! CVG points to this quote:

Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime said that they have already learned their lesson from the launch of their previous hardwares and this move was intentional.

Nintendo today claimed to have registered record Australian sales for its 3DS portable device, within weeks from the console’s launch locally.

Nintendo Australia has just released sales figures for the 3DS gaming device.  The glasses free 3D gaming experience seems to be a hit breaking early sales records for hand-held entertainment.

I’m usually an early adopter of anything video game related which also means I always get the shaft a year later when the next hardware iteration gets released. I am an RPG/sports gamer and own a Wii, DS lite, PSP, and PS3. I’m extremely disappointed that there were no RPG’s at launch!

Offering glasses-free 3D handheld gaming, the follow-up to the hugely successful DS has already been breaking sales records before it even hit the shops. But if you haven’t pre-ordered yours already, is it worth making a trip to the shops today?

Ever since I showed off my new Nintendo 3DS last week I’ve been hit with countless questions about the system through post comments, emails, private messages and even Twitter. I’m more than happy to answer any questions, but I figured I should compile the answers here so that everyone can benefit from them.

Nintendo Co., the world’s biggest maker of video-game players, began selling its 3DS handheld model to crowds in Tokyo as the company tries to revive profit amid growing competition with Apple Inc. and Sony Corp.
